After a slow start to the season the Red Sox now find themselves tied for 1st place with the Moose Jaw Miller Express! After the first 20 games of the season the Queen City kids hovered around or below .500. With a strong 2nd half of the season they now have a .583 winning percentage with 8 games remaining in the regular season.

There were no big innings by the Sox in last nights 6-4 win over Medicine Hat. The previous 3 games Regina relied on putting up runs in bunches. Last night the Sox in 6 of their 8 offensive innings! Things got interesting in the top of the 9th when Medicine Hat had the bases loaded with no outs. Braden Houston came in to  close out the game and with bases loaded got his first out on a strike out before getting out number two on a fly ball to shortstop Zane Zielinski who made a Sports Center hi-lite worthy play in shallow centerfield. The 3rd out came on a ground ball to 2nd base and the Sox ended the game with the ground of over 900 collectively exhaling. Preston Tenney started and pitched 6 strong innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs while striking out 3. Kade Douglas pitched the 7th inning and Andy Cook the 8th before Braden Houston saved the game in the 9th.

Offensively Regina only had 9 hits in the game but got timely hits when they needed and manufactured a couple runs with some heads up base running. Nate Bach and Christopher Munoz each had 2 hits and had 1 RBI and 2 RBI each. Mac Lecroy had a 2 hit night and singles were added by Diego Aragon, Travis Johnson and Michael Zinter!
