After being shut out of home dates since August of 2019, the Regina Red Sox returned to Currie Field on Tuesday and blanked the Swift Current 57’s 6-0.

Red Sox starter Braden Houston was outstanding, allowing only three hits and striking out eight over seven innings in Western Canadian Baseball League action.

Zane Pollon and Kade Douglas each pitched effectively in one inning of relief, combining to allow only one base-runner before 450 spectators.

Cade Nelson went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Zane Zielinski and Travis Johnson each had two hits for the Red Sox. Dylan Edmands and Chase Taylor each scored two runs.

The Red Sox avenged Sunday’s season-opening, 7-2 loss in Swift Current.

The 57’s will also provide the opposition Wednesday night at Currie Field. The Weyburn Beavers are in town Thursday. Both games are set for 7 p.m.
