The Sox got back in the win column after dropping  a 11-3 game Thursday night to Moose Jaw Miller Express. The Weyburn Beavers were the opponents for Regina’s first Canada Day game in history! Regina jumped out to an early 5-1 1st inning lead and added 3 runs in the 4th inning. Weyburn also scored 4 runs in the top of the 4th. Regina pounded out 22 hits and Weyburn countered with 12 hits of their own.

Nate Bach went 5 for 6 with 5 RBI and had 2 home runs for the Sox. Max Lecroy was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI, Zane Zielinski went 3 for 6and Karsten Vasquez was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI.

 

Bryson Sanchez started for Regina and pitched 6 innings and earned the win. Bryson allowed 6 runs on 7 hits. He walked 4 batters and struck out 6 Weyburn batters.  He got help from Hunter Smith who pitched 3 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits. The Sox travel to Moose Jaw Saturday night before returning to Currie Field Sunday to face Swift Current 57’s at 2:00 PM
