The Sox won their 3rd game in as many nights and the 4th in a row with a 6-0 win over the Sylvan Lake Gulls who made their first ever appearance at Currie Field! The expansion team Gulls played theirĀ  first season in the covid short season in 2020. The Sox opted out in 2020 so this was the first meeting of the two teams.

The Sox jumped on the back of starting pitcher Preston Tenney who pitched 6 innings of 1 hit baseball. The native of Parker Colorado had just returned back to the team after attending a wedding and show no signs of rust. Tenney struck out 11 Gull batters while walking 3 batters. Kade Douglas had 2 strong hitless innings pitching the 7th and 8th innings and has proven dependable in late innings. Regina product Zander Oudie- Sanger pitched the 9th inning allowing 1 hit and stranding two Gulls base runners.

 

Offensively Regina was leadĀ  by Pleasant Grove Utah’s Travis Johnson who was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Shortstop Zane Zielenski from Chicago IL was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI , Regina’s Dylan Edmands was 2 for 2 , Jackson Alaniz was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and chipping in with 1 hit each were Kendall Keller, Michael Zinter, and Jonah Bachiu who is also from Regina.

Regina hits the road friday and saturday to play Medicine Hat Mavericks before playing two games Sunday at 2:00 and 7:00 vs Sylvan Lake and Weyburn Beavers !
