The Sox opened the 2024 season with a 5-4 win over the Saskatoon Berries Saturday evening. The game was enjoyed by over 900 fans at Currie Field on an evening that started out nice but turned chilly later in the evening. The game started at 7:05 and ended at 10:19 with fans rushing to by Sox blankets at the souvenir stand.

Sox starter Holden Hungerford pitched 3.1 innings in his first WCBL start allowing 3 hits, allowing 1 unearned run, strike out 3 bats and walked 2. Tyler Fortin earned the win pitching 1 inning and Nicolas Yard got the save.

Offensively the Sox got multiple hit games from LF Jackson Syring (2 for 3 with 2 RBI) 1B Kody Hanna (3 for 5 with 3 RBI) and C Jackson Alaniz (2 for 3). RF Glenn Noronha and 2B Alex Mendes chipped in with a hit each.

Next Game for the Sox is Sunday May 26th at 2:00 with the rematch with Saskatoon Berries!
