Regina Red Sox vs Yorkton Cardinals |  18 – 5

It was a blowout in Yorkton as the Regina Red Sox crushed the Cardinals 18-5, handing them their WCBL worst 24th loss of the season. The Red Sox now move within one game of the Weyburn Beavers for top spot in the East, holding a record of 22-10.

Regina outfielder, Wesley Moss did most of the damage for his team, finishing the ballgame 4-6 with a triple, two RBI’s and four runs scored, as his teammate Robbie Wilkes also made some noise, going 3-4 with two RBI’s and a run scored.

The only bright spot for the Cardinals tonight was catcher, Matthew Korman who went 2-3 with two RBI’s and a stolen base.

All five runs for the Cardinals came in the first two innings with Joey Arellano on the mound. Arellano only allowed one earned run, with the other four filling out the scoresheet from errors, which were the killer in his outing as Regina finished with five on the night. Baylor Gianinni came in relief to begin the third inning, tossing two innings, allowing only one hit, punching a strikeout. The final five innings were filled by Dolan Kunkel, Max Ludka and Nick Ferngren, who there a combined six strikeouts as a group, shutting down the Cardinals for only two hits.
