Regina, Sask. — The Regina Red Sox are pleased to announce the signings of local product Chance Descalchuk, along with Jake Fowler and Caleb Orr from Cerritos College, for the upcoming 2026 season.

Deschalchuk, a Regina native, is putting together an outstanding freshman season at Miles Community College. In 41 games, the right-handed hitting utility player owns a .452 batting average with 14 home runs, 64 RBIs, 50 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases. He has also posted a .545 on-base percentage and an .889 slugging percentage.

Before heading to college, Deschalchuk played locally with the Regina Athletics and later attended post-grad school in Palm Springs.

“Chance has had a tremendous freshman season, and we’re excited to see him in a Red Sox uniform this summer playing for his hometown team,” said Red Sox Field Manager Rye Pothakos. “Chance is a very athletic player with a lot of tools, and we look forward to him making an impact for our club this season.”

Orr, a freshman right-hander from La Habra, has appeared in eight games this season for Cerritos, including four starts. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound pitcher has worked 19 innings, striking out 21 batters.

“Caleb is a big, physical right-hander who fills the zone and challenges hitters,” said Pothakos. “We’re looking forward to him providing solid depth to our pitching staff this summer.”

Fowler, a sophomore from Los Alamitos, has contributed both on the mound and at the plate this season. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hander owns a 2-1 record with a 3.68 ERA across 36.2 innings out of the bullpen, while also hitting .364 in 29 games as an infielder.

“Jake is a bulldog and a fierce competitor on the mound,” added Pothakos. “He’s the type of back-end bullpen arm who attacks hitters in high-leverage situations. He also has the ability to contribute as a two-way player.”

The Red Sox continue to build a strong roster ahead of the 2026 campaign, adding a mix of local talent and versatile collegiate players who will look to make an impact this summer.
