Regina, Sask. – The Regina Red Sox are pleased to announce the return of Jalen Meyers, Justin Simard, and Jordan Tucker for the upcoming 2026 Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) season.

Justin Simard returns for his third season with the Red Sox and is set to enter his senior year at Missouri–St. Louis (NCAA Division II). The Ladera Ranch, California product has been a consistent contributor during his time in Regina.

In 2025, the right-handed hitting utility player batted .271 with a .308 OBP, driving in 13 RBIs while adding five doubles and one triple across 29 games. Simard followed up an impressive 2023 campaign in which he hit .332 with a .375 OBP, collecting five doubles, one triple, 10 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.

Listed at 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, Simard primarily patrolled the outfield last season but showcased his defensive versatility by splitting time at second base, third base, and the outfield. He has also logged significant innings at shortstop during his collegiate career at Missouri–St. Louis.

“Simard is our Swiss Army knife type player,” said Red Sox Field Manager Rye Pothakos. “He can play three infield positions and patrol the outfield when needed. Simmy will be back for his third season with us—he’s a great clubhouse presence and truly lives by the motto, ‘it ain’t over till it’s over.’”

Jordan Tucker is set to return for his third season with the Club while entering his senior season at Rogers State University (NCAA Division II). The Detroit Lakes, Minnesota native enjoyed a breakout summer in 2025, emerging as one of the Red Sox’s most consistent offensive threats.

Tucker posted a .303 batting average, .392 OBP, and .443 slugging percentage, good for an .835 OPS. He finished the season with four home runs, 10 doubles, two triples, 32 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases in 50 games, while also being hit by a pitch 15 times, highlighting his toughness and plate presence.

Before Rogers State, the 6-foot-0, 180-pound corner outfielder played at Hutchinson Community College in 2024, where he hit .365 with a .426 OBP and an impressive 13.53% strikeout rate, underscoring his ability to make consistent contact.

“Tuck was a big part of our offense in 2025. He gives us solid defense, above-average speed, and some pop in the bat,” added Pothakos. “He’s entering his senior season and will be a strong leader for us.”

Jalen Meyers returns to the Red Sox for his third season and will enter his senior year at West Doane University (NAIA). The Arlington, Texas product provided valuable depth and versatility for Regina last summer.

In limited action, Meyers hit .294 in 10 games, serving as a productive role player off the bench while seeing time at second and third base. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitting infielder starred at Frank Phillips Junior College, slashing .331/.425/.481 for a .906 OPS over 48 games in 2023.

Meyers also suited up for the Red Sox in 2024, where he batted .317 with three home runs, eight doubles, and one triple across 36 games, drawing 28 walks against just 22 strikeouts.

“Jalen is a solid player who contributes in a lot of ways,” Pothakos said. “He gives you quality at-bats, has power, puts the ball in play, and isn’t afraid to grind out a walk in key situations to keep a rally going and turn the lineup over.”

The trio brings back a strong mix of versatility, experience, and offensive production as the Red Sox continue building toward another competitive summer at Currie Field.
