Regina, Sask. — The Regina Red Sox have added a pair of arms to their pitching staff, announcing the signings of Edgewood University (NCAA Division III) right-handers Aiden Shumaker and Kris Hahn for the upcoming WCBL season.

Shumaker, a senior out of Chandler, Arizona, is enjoying a strong 2026 campaign. The 6-foot-0, 190-pound right-hander owns a 3-1 record with a 3.86 ERA across six starts, striking out 39 batters while issuing just 13 walks over 37.1 innings. His efficiency is reflected in a 1.26 WHIP, along with a 3.13 walks-per-nine rate and an impressive 9.40 strikeouts-per-nine.

He’s coming off a dominant outing on March 31 against Marian (Wis.), where he tossed seven shutout innings, allowing no earned runs while striking out 10 and walking just two in the win.

Shumaker also provided valuable innings for Edgewood as a junior in 2025, going 5-3 with a 4.74 ERA over nine starts (14 appearances). He logged 68.1 innings, walking only 20 batters and posting an 8.56 K/9 rate. Prior to his time at Edgewood, Shumaker developed at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (NJCAA Division I) from 2023 to 2024.

“Shumaker will be a top-of-the-rotation arm that will give us an opportunity to win every time he takes the ball,” said Red Sox field manager Rye Pothakos. “As a senior with a solid collegiate career, we look forward to his leadership and stability this summer.”

Hahn, a sophomore from Deerfield, Wisconsin, will also look to make an impact on the Red Sox pitching staff. The 6-foot-1, 186-pound right-hander has made five starts this season, going 1-1 with a 9.86 ERA, recording 11 strikeouts and 12 walks over 21 innings.

Hahn had a very good freshman season in 2025. He posted a 3-1 record with a 3.82 ERA over eight appearances (three starts), highlighted by a complete game shutout.

“Hahn is another quality starter from Edgewood where he has put up some solid numbers and is gaining valuable experience as their number two starter,” Pothakos added. “Kris will add depth to our starting rotation and provide us with another quality option on the mound.”

With the additions of Shumaker and Hahn, the Red Sox continue to build pitching depth heading into the summer, bringing in two arms with collegiate experience and the potential to contribute in a variety of roles.
