Regina, Sask. — The Regina Red Sox have announced the addition of left-handed pitcher Terrius Causey and right-handed pitcher Quinn Boreen for the 2026 Western Canadian Baseball League season.
Causey, a sophomore at Southwestern Oklahoma State (NCAA D2), has made two appearances out of the bullpen this season, recording four strikeouts and six walks over 1.2 innings pitched. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-hander from Wichita, Texas, previously pitched at Vernon College during the 2024-25 campaign.
“Terrius is a big left-hander who is just getting going in his collegiate career,” said Red Sox Field Manager Rye Pothakos. “He’ll benefit from getting innings here in Regina this summer. He’s shown good velocity and has some quality secondary pitches. We expect him to come in as a fresh arm and provide valuable depth to our pitching staff.”
Boreen, a freshman at Edmonton Collegiate (NAIT), has appeared in four games this season, including two starts, posting nine strikeouts over 9.1 innings pitched. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound right-hander from Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan, recently tossed 1.1 scoreless innings on April 11 against the Calgary Dinos. Boreen also pitched for the White Butte Broncos of the SPBL.
“Quinn is a local product with a ton of upside,” added Pothakos. “He’s gained valuable experience this spring, and we’re excited to see him contribute to our staff this summer. He throws with solid velocity, has good command, and will add important depth for us over the course of a 56-game schedule.”
The Red Sox continue to build their roster ahead of the 2026 season, with both Causey and Boreen expected to play key roles on the Club’s pitching staff this summer.
