Regina, Sask. – When the dust settled on the 2026 WCBL regular season, one name stood atop the Regina Red Sox record book.
Brady Bye.
The White City, Sask., product put together one of the greatest offensive seasons in franchise history, rewriting the club’s single-season records for both home runs and runs batted in while helping lead the Red Sox back to the postseason.
Bye finished the regular season with 13 home runs and 67 RBI, establishing new franchise marks in both categories. He became the first player in Red Sox history to reach double digits in home runs during a single season, surpassing the previous club record of nine, which he shared with Broderick Rodocker (2017) after matching the mark a season ago.
His 67 RBI also eclipsed the previous franchise record of 64, set by Kody Hanna during the 2024 campaign.
The senior third baseman was one of the Western Canadian Baseball League’s premier run producers all summer long. His 67 RBI ranked second in the WCBL, trailing only Jake Hiromoto’s league-leading 77, while his 13 home runs finished tied for fourth among all hitters.
Beyond the power numbers, Bye consistently produced at the plate throughout the season.
He closed out the year batting .344 with a .393 on-base percentage and .579 slugging percentage, combining for a .973 OPS. Among qualified Red Sox hitters, only Jalen Meyers (1.074) and Ian Montz (1.025) posted higher OPS marks.
Bye also finished with 76 hits, narrowly missing another piece of franchise history. He ended the season just four hits shy of Griffin Keller’s club-record 80-hit campaign in 2019.
Now, Bye will look to carry that momentum into the postseason.
The defending WCBL champions finished the regular season with a 26-30 record, good for third place in the East Division, and will open their title defence against the second-seeded Saskatoon Berries in the opening round of the playoffs.
Games 1 and 3 of the best-of-three series will be played in Saskatoon, while Regina will host its lone first-round home game on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Currie Field as the Red Sox begin their quest for back-to-back WCBL championships.
