REGINA, SK — Fresh off a championship winning 2025 season, the Regina Red Sox will return to Currie Field, where the team has played for more than 60 years, on Saturday, May 30 as the defending Western Canadian Baseball League champions.
The 2026 season marks the first year of ownership for the Regina Red Sox under Brandt Sports & Entertainment. The approach to the 2026 season is rooted in stewardship. The ownership group is building on decades of care, volunteerism, and community involvement, while investing in upgrades designed to enhance the overall fan and player experience.
“Winning the WCBL championship in 2025 was an incredible moment for our players, coaches, volunteers, and fans,” said Gary Broetzel, General Manager of Regina Red Sox. “As we return to Currie Field to defend that title, we’re proud to do so in a space that continues to reflect the pride this community has always taken in Red Sox baseball.”
Facility and Fan Experience Enhancements
Fans returning to Currie Field will notice a number of upgrades designed to improve comfort and enjoyment throughout the ballpark, including:
• A new digital outfield sign to increase interactive fan engagement such as replays, in-game prompts, crowd participation elements, and other live fan activities throughout games
• New food and beverage options
• Exterior repairs and visual updates, with replaced wood, fresh paint, cladding, and general facility repairs
• Outfield wall improvements, including replaced materials and refreshed signage
• Enhanced fan decks such as the Bennet Bullpen and Tailgate Terrace, featuring new seating, rails, and protective overhangs
• Ongoing maintenance and landscaping improvements throughout Currie Field
All enhancements were approached with care to ensure Currie Field remains familiar for returning fans while continuing to meet evolving needs.
Food and Beverage Offerings
Food and beverage offerings have also been refreshed with an emphasis on consistency, quality, and local partnerships lead by the new food & beverage leadership team at Queen City Distillers including:
• Expanded beverage options this season with the addition of a Cocktail Caravan by Queen City Distillers, offering a curated selection of cocktail offerings
• Local Regina favourite, El Tropezon food truck will be on site at all home games
• An updated concession serving classic ballpark favourites, including Western Pizza by the slice
• A refreshed Beer Shed, where fans can get draft beer and canned products, including local craft selections
Game Days Built for Fun
In addition to physical improvements, the Red Sox are introducing a renewed focus on the game day experience:
• Home opener celebration on Saturday, May 30 as a marquee kickoff to the season
• Expanded focus on in-game entertainment and themed programming designed to make every game day more engaging for fans of all ages
• Ongoing schedule of special theme nights and promotional games focused on fun, community, and entertainment throughout the summer with the return of staple theme nights including Bark in the Park, Western Night, and Baseball Night in Canada
Volunteers continue to play a key role in the game-day experience at Currie Field. The Red Sox Rally Crew presented by Link Developments helps create the atmosphere fans experience each night. The organization extends its sincere thanks to the volunteers whose contributions remain an essential to gamedays.
