October 28th, 2019

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Media Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The Western Canadian Baseball League held its annual general meetings on October 26th – 27th and have released the award winners for the 2019 season, which can be found listed at the end of the media release.
Other key news coming out of the weekend include:

2020 WCBL All-Star Game
The WCBL All-Star Game will be back for the 2020 season and is expected to be held in Edmonton, Alberta at Remax Field during the weekend of July 18th – 19th.
Schedule Approval
The WCBL Board of Governors have approved a 56-game schedule for the 2020 season, which is slated to begin the last week of May and conclude on August 6th, with the Postseason to follow.
New Division Alignment
The WCBL will move forward with 10 teams for the 2020 season, with a two-division alignment due to the fact that the Melville Millionaires and Yorkton Cardinals have each been granted a one-year leave of absence from the WCBL so they can work to improve their baseball operations and financial structures. The Medicine Hat Mavericks will be moving from the Western Division to the Eastern Division as a corresponding move.
