Sox open the 2025 season at home with an impressive win!

The Red Sox took a while to get going but once they had the ball start dropping in the flood gates opened up.

Regina opened at home against the Swift Current 57’s Thursday evening at Currie Field in front of 800 plus fans on a beautiful evening for baseball.

The first 5 innings was nothing but zeroes on the scoreboard. Sox starter Holden Hungerford pitched 6 strong innings allowing 2 hits and struck out 4 batters in his season debut. The 2nd year Red Sox allowed one base on balls. His performance earned him the “Player of the game”. 57’s starter Adam Korte pitched well and took the loss. Adam pitched 5.2 innings and allowed two earned runs on 9 hits and struck out two batters.

The Sox offense started rolling mid game and the offense came from the entire batting order. All 9 batters registered a hit for the Red Sox with 3rd Baseman Riley Bender going 4 for 6 with 1 RBI and had him in the conversation for “Player of the game”. Multiple hits were provided courtesy Outfielders Rafael Jackson and Jordan Tucker, plus SS Matt Fox, 1B James Wright and DH Brady Bye.
