Yorkton 1 at Regina 4
The Regina Red Sox got an outstanding pitching performance from starter Kyle Wilson on their way to a 4-1 win over the Yorkton Cardinals. The junior from Arkansas Tech threw 114 pitches and allowed just one run and six hits over 8.2 innings. He also walked three and struck out eight as he picked up his second win of 2018. Newcomer Tyler Bernhardt earned the save in his first game in the WMBL.
Yorkton’s Wryland McKnight, who pitched six innings, took the loss.
Danny Hunt led the Red Sox offence with three hits and a RBI. Cardinal third baseman Logan Zozaya had two hits including a double for the visitors.
The 14-6 Red Sox take to the road Thursday night as they travel to Moose Jaw to face the Miller Express at Ross Wells Park. The two teams will meet again Friday night at Currie Field.
Regina will then board the bus and head to Alberta for a pair of weekend games in Okotoks.
